At the middle-market level, teams rarely consisted of more than three people. Partners prospected new clients and reviewed finished product minimally, while managers often delegated work and navigated the corporate ladder, leaving seniors and associates to do the work. Of those three people on the job, one person was usually doing 90% of the work. I was almost always that one person.
